A Letter from Anthony & Sara
Hi! We’re an Air Force family currently stationed in Japan! We’re so excited to adopt again and would love to welcome a boy, girl, or sibling set of any race into our family. We cherish parenthood and feel fortunate to have a loving, stable, and Christian home to share.
We enjoy outdoor adventures, bedtime stories, and special traditions as a family and we look forward to sharing it all with your child. We’re excited to get to know you and learn about your hopes for your child and for this adoption journey.
We met at church while serving together in the worship band and have been married for 13 years. Adoption has always been on our hearts, especially because Anthony was adopted into his family. We were incredibly blessed to adopt our son, Elijah, as a newborn in 2018, and we still keep in touch with his birth mom.
Living in Japan gives us rich cultural experiences, unique travel opportunities, and so much delicious food! We love being outside, whether we’re splashing in the ocean, enjoying a hike, sharing a meal under the patio twinkle lights, playing at the park, or gathering the neighbors for an outdoor movie night. We appreciate the financial security and sense of community and adventure that being a military family brings to our lives.
Anthony is someone who puts others first and wants everyone around him to feel happy and well cared for. He flies one of the more family-friendly aircrafts in the Air Force, so his work travel is minimal and he’s almost always home for dinner! Anthony is a gifted musician, runs marathons, has made some beautiful wooden furniture for our home, and cooks the yummiest food. He loves to hike, camp, travel, and gather friends together!
Anthony is an involved and playful dad who prioritizes adventure, guidance, and support in all our son does. He’s excited to provide the same for our next child. Since Anthony was also adopted himself, he’s able to offer a special perspective as we raise our children.
One of the first things that attracted me to Sara was her kind and loving heart. She’s compassionate, generous, and has a way of making people feel comfortable. Sara has a background in education and her minimal work hours as an in-home preschool teacher give her the opportunity to spend lots of quality time with our son each day! She looks forward to including another child in their walks around the neighborhood, playground trips, picnics, storytime snuggles, and baking projects.
Sara loves any excuse to be creative and is famous among our circles for her awesome theme parties. She enjoys reading, writing, and music and is excited to sing to our next child.
Our 3 year old son, Elijah, is a super friendly and fun-loving explorer who’s a fan of reading stories, eating waffles, and racing toy cars across the living room floor. He loves to help in the kitchen, and the outdoors is his happy place. Extroverted and nurturing, Elijah is thrilled to become a big brother! We pray that our children will become each other’s best friends.
In our family, your child will have the most loving grandparents, awesome uncles and aunts, and nine fun and sweet first cousins. Our entire extended family lives in Virginia and is greatly supportive of our plans to adopt again. Even though we live overseas right now, we stay close with our families and keep in touch often.
We live in a fantastic area in the Tokyo metropolis where we’re surrounded by zoos, parks, pools, restaurants, and fun stores. We’re also only about an hour from Disneyland! Our home is in a large gated community with lots of kids, sidewalks, and playgrounds. We have an extra bedroom ready to be turned into your child’s room.
We promise to love your child with all of our hearts and to teach them about the love of God. We’re committed to celebrating their cultural heritage and will provide financial stability, personal respect, unconditional acceptance, and a lifetime of adventures. We’ll strive to nurture kindness, generosity, and confidence in them and give them every opportunity to succeed in life. We will always be their soft place to land, their haven of safety and security, and their biggest cheerleader.
We promise to honor you, both with our words and in the way we raise your child. Your child will grow up knowing their adoption story and we look forward to sharing with you letters, pictures, and visits.

More About Our Family
Adoption in Our Family
Adoption is a huge part of our story! We believe our son’s adoption is a special and important part of his journey, and when he turned one, we created a book for him that tells the story of how we became a family. He often asks to look at the photos in the book and listen to us read his adoption story, and we look forward to creating a special book for your son or daughter as well. Anthony was also adopted himself which has been super helpful to us as we raise our son. We love that we can offer your child a family where they’ll have adoption in common with both a sibling and a parent!
A Few of Our Family Traditions
• Themed birthday parties and cake with Sara’s homemade vanilla frosting
Our Christian faith is the center of our family. We believe God wants us to value, care about, and treat everyone with dignity regardless of their background and beliefs. Our faith inspires us to be a picture of His joy, peace, and compassion. We’re part of an awesome bilingual church here in Japan!
Everyday Life in Our Family
• Daily visits to the park with our son to meet up with friends, enjoy the playground, dig in the dirt pit, ride bikes, or run around

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family. We will provide your child with kindness and comfort through life, and they will always know that they are deeply loved. They’ll grow up in a safe, secure, and God-centered home where they understand that it’s okay to make mistakes and where their passions are celebrated and nurtured. We will cuddle them, play with them, laugh with them, and read to them every day. Your child will grow up hearing his or her adoption story and with a dad and big brother who were also adopted.
